Privacy Policy

TalkTrade ("we", "our", "us") operates the TalkTrade mobile application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Voice recordings and transcripts. When you use the microphone feature, your speech is converted to text on your device using your phone's built-in speech recognition. The resulting text transcript is sent to our AI processing service to generate your quote. We do not store your voice recordings or transcripts after processing is complete.

Written notes. Any text you type into the notes field is processed the same way as voice transcripts — sent to our AI service, used to generate your quote, and not stored afterwards.

Business profile information. Your business name, ABN, contact name, email, and phone number are stored locally on your device only. This information is used to populate your quote PDFs and email templates. It is never sent to our servers.

Client information. Any client details you include in a quote (name, address, phone, email) are processed locally on your device to generate the PDF. This data is not sent to or stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Data

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the quoting service.

Third-Party Services

We use Anthropic's Claude API to process your transcripts into structured quote data. Your transcript text is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing and is handled in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Under Anthropic's API terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. Transcripts are not retained by us or by Anthropic beyond what is needed to complete the request. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Data Storage

Your business profile and app preferences are stored locally on your device using standard app storage. We do not operate user accounts or cloud storage. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is deleted.

Price memory. TalkTrade maintains a local database on your device that remembers prices you have explicitly set on previous quotes (for example, your standard call-out fee or hourly labour rate). This data is stored entirely on your device using an SQLite database and is never sent to our servers, to Anthropic, or to any third party. It is used solely to pre-fill pricing on future quotes for your convenience. This data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

TalkTrade is a business tool intended for use by trade professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.

Your Rights

Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to delete or provide. Your business profile is stored only on your device and can be cleared by editing your profile or uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
